Manual techniques can even help in advanced cases of knee or hip joint deformation, something incredible for an orthodox physician. |
Certainly not.
You have to master this art all your life. Reading new literature in this field is important, but the main thing is hands-on experience, no pun intended. The thousands of patients that pass through the hands of a practicing professional teach him much more than thousands of pages he may read. For instance, no one has ever reported that an acute disc herniation may be treated by manual therapy, but I did it several times, sparing my patients from surgery.
Again, a combination of joint mobilization with manipulation of overstressed spasmed muscles turned out to be a great way of treating advanced cases of knee or hip joint deformation, something incredible for an orthodox physician.

The purpose of manual therapy
Â
Manual therapy concentrates on alleviating pain in patients with spine and joint conditions. |
As I have already said, manual therapy concentrates on the spine and joint conditions. At the same time, it can help patients with headaches, as well as radiated pain in the heart area and elsewhere. The key to successful treatment is a precise diagnosis. We start by ruling out any chance of a major problem with any internal organ, circulatory disorders, or tumors. This is done using sophisticated lab tests and state-of-the-art technologies, including computer tomography (СT scans), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), electromyography, and electroneurography. Next, we identify the exact source of the pain, such as myositis, radiculitis, sciatica, or a herniated intervertebral disk. Most often, however, pain in the neck, shoulders, elbow, and knee joints, as well as such conditions as the carpal tunnel syndrome or a frozen shoulder, is caused by a deep muscle spasm.  A manual therapist knows how to eliminate these spasms and the associated pain.
Â
This unique blend of Eastern and Western medicine, ancient and modern, instrumental and manual, helps resolve the toughest problems and free patients of persistent pain syndromes in just a few sessions.
Manual therapy in combination with special injection techniques is a great way to remedy headaches and migraines, muscle spasms in the neck and at the back of the head, numbness, and cramps in the limbs. Add some efficient motion therapy methods plus special exercises, and you get an unmatched opportunity to recover impaired mobility after trauma, bone fractures, surgery, or car accidents.
Apart from eliminating pain and restoring mobility, this treatment often enhances general vitality, activates the defense potential of the immune system, and restores the body’s natural capacity for self-healing. In other words, manual therapy improves the quality of life. It’s well worth trying!
